Overview

PodPosting is an iOS and macOS app for turning podcast moments into short social videos. The app is designed to work without an account, without third-party tracking, and without uploading imported media to a PodPosting server.

Data We Collect

PodPosting does not collect personal data through the current app experience. We do not use account registration, advertising identifiers, analytics SDKs, third-party APIs, or tracking technologies in the app.

Audio And Images

When you select an audio file or image, PodPosting uses that file to create your project on your device. Imported audio, selected images, project settings, waveform information, and exported videos are stored locally unless you choose to share or move them elsewhere.

• Audio is used to generate a waveform and render your video.
• Images are used only as backgrounds or visual assets inside your project.
• PodPosting does not upload these files to a PodPosting server.
• The editing and rendering workflow runs inside the app on your device.

macOS File Access And App Sandbox

The Mac app runs inside Apple's App Sandbox. It can access an audio file, image, caption file, or export location outside its container only when you select that item through a standard macOS open or save panel. PodPosting uses user-selected read/write access so it can import your chosen media and write an export where you direct it. It does not scan unrelated folders or request access to all files on your Mac.

Podcast Links

When you paste an RSS, Apple Podcasts, or Spotify link, PodPosting contacts that public service to retrieve episode information and artwork. Pasted links do not download podcast audio. You must separately select an audio file you own or have permission to use.

Caption Recognition

The macOS app uses on-device speech recognition by default. A temporary audio file containing only the selected clip range is created locally for transcription and removed after the request finishes. If you explicitly enable Apple speech services in Settings, that selected clip may be sent to Apple for transcription when on-device recognition is unavailable. PodPosting does not receive or store the clip or transcript on a PodPosting server. You can keep Apple speech services disabled and import VTT or SRT caption files instead.

Paid App

PodPosting is a paid app. The current app does not use subscriptions, advertising, or in-app third-party monetization services. App purchase and payment processing are handled by Apple through the App Store.

Photos Permission

The iOS app asks for add-only access to your photo library when you save an exported video. This permission is used only to write the finished video to Photos. The macOS app writes exports to the folder you select.

Sharing

If you choose to share an exported video with another app or service, that sharing action is controlled by iOS and the destination app. The destination app or service may handle your content according to its own privacy policy.

Third-Party Services

PodPosting does not include third-party analytics, ads, or sign-in services. Podcast-link metadata and artwork come from the public RSS, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or webpage location selected by the user. Those services receive ordinary network information, such as an IP address, under their own privacy practices. Optional Apple speech services are used only after the user enables them in macOS Settings. This website is hosted by Firebase Hosting.

Deletion And Local Storage

PodPosting stores project files and settings locally on your device. On Mac, you can delete individual projects from the project sidebar and remove unused copied media from Settings. Deleting the app may not remove files that you exported to a folder you selected. On iOS, deleting the app may delete data inside its app container. Videos saved to Photos remain under the control of the Photos app until you delete them there.

PodPosting has no user account and does not maintain a server-side project database, so there is no PodPosting cloud account to delete. See Privacy Choices for permission and deletion instructions.

Children

PodPosting is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this privacy policy when the app changes. If we make meaningful changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
